Laboratory for Biocrystallography

As a structural biology laboratory we study the molecular basis of cellular mechanisms in healthy and diseased state. We use a wide range of biochemical, biophysical and modelling techniques with a particular accent on X-ray crystallography. Our research topics include (but are not limited to) the atomic structure of intermediate filaments, small heat-shock proteins, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and HIV integrase co-factors. Besides the fundamental mechanisms, we are also interested in the rational development of new drugs. Our research is being carried out in extensive intramural and international collaboration.
